Dave Brecheisen
Life Skills Director
Dave Brecheisen grew up in western Minnesota and was blessed to be raised in a Christ-centered home. At the age of 15, he committed to following Jesus with his life. Dave began to hear a call to urban ministry during his years at Bethel College in St. Paul. He graduated in 1995 with a B.A. in Cultural Studies with an emphasis in Urban Studies. He’s worked with urban children and teenagers since 1994. He was able to blend two of his passions, camping and urban youth outreach, together in 1996 when he became the camping ministries director with Inner City Impact in Chicago. In addition to his work with ICI in camping, outreach, and discipleship programs, he also became a part of the youth ministry team at Armitage Baptist Church.
In 2002, Dave and his wife, Joscey, joined a team to plant a church in East Garfield Park on Chicago’s west side. They continue to use their passion for youth outreach as their methodology of reaching others with the Gospel. Dave continues to be on the leadership team of the new church, Lighthouse Christian Fellowship. He brings over 12 years of full-time youth ministry experience (joys and failures) to help develop GRIP’s vision for a life skills development program.
