Bobby Kim

Bobby Kim Mentorship Director

Bobby Kim was born in Seoul, Korea and was raised and has lived in Chicago since the age of one. Graduated with a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois, Champaign in 1994; Helped to create and run an independent real estate company from 2002.

His first exposure to inner-city ministry was an out-reach during his senior year in college. He joined SLAM as a volunteer in 2005 and served as an interim head coach. And officially joined the GRIP staff in February 2007 as the Coaches Director to encourage, love and equip our coach volunteers. Bobby is an active member of Harvest Community Church in Hoffman Estates, IL

Perfect Day: Lounge in bed until about 11:00 AM; play a round of golf somewhere like Augusta National or Pebble Beach; steak dinner at a very delicious steak house; and a bonfire at the beach into the late night while snuggling on the couch with my wife in the evening
First Job: Bus boy at my uncle's Japanese restaurant
Favorite Food: Steak or Lou Malnatti's Pizza
Favorite Movie: A Few Good Men

Favorite Sport: Basketball or golf - tough call
